Seni tanımadan önce
beni izliyordun.
Kalenden bakıp
benim kalemi seyrediyordun uzaktan.
Ne söylediğimi değil,
nasıl söylediğimi duyuyordun.
Ne kazandığımı değil,
nasıl taşıdığımı görüyordun.
Sen biliyordun,
ben bilmiyordum.
Ve bir gün
kalelerin savunmasını sordun.
Sonra her gelişinde
yeni bir soru getirdin.
Bir gün sessizliği bozdun:
“Bir dahaki sefer sen yaz bana.
Hep ilk yazan ben olmak zorunda değilim.”
Mevsimler döndü.
Fırtınalar koptu ve dindi.
Çehreler değişti.
Maskeler bir bir düştü.
Ama ne zaman dönüp baksam
aynı yere varıyordum.
Ve bir gün şöyle dedin:
“Sen benim için herhangi biri değilsin.”
Dünya yerinden biraz oynadı.
Belki bu yüzden tanıdık geldin.
Başka bir hayattan değil.
Bir masaldan da değil.
Kalabalık bir dünyanın içinde
uzaktan aynı şarkıyı duyan
iki yabancı gibi.
Sıradan değildin;
çünkü beni sevmeden önce,
beni görmüştün.
Before I knew you
you were watching me.
Looking out from your castle,
watching mine from a distance.
Not what I said,
you heard how I said it.
Not what I won,
you saw how I carried it.
You knew.
I didn't.
And one day
you asked about defending castles.
After that, every time you came
you brought a new question.
One day you broke the silence:
“Next time, you write to me.
I don't always have to be the one
who writes first.”
The seasons turned.
Storms broke and settled.
Faces changed.
The masks came off, one by one.
But whenever I looked back
I arrived at the same place.
And one day you said:
“You are not just anyone to me.”
The world shifted a little.
Maybe that is why you seemed familiar.
Not from another life.
Not from a fable either.
Like two strangers in a crowded world
hearing the same song
from far off.
You were not ordinary;
because before you loved me,
you had seen me.

Bu şarkıdaki ses benim değil. O da şiirler gibi yapıldı.
The voice in this song is not mine. It was made the way the poems were.
